Inspired by metamorphism which is the change of minerals or geologic texture in rocks.
The change occurs primarily due to heat, pressure and the introduction of chemically active fluids. A similar concept as when colouring the hair, the chemical process breaks down the disulphide bonds allowing you to create a new colour.
