Reuzel Look & Learn Cape Town: A Sold-Out Success

On 28 October, mhb’s Reuzel Look & Learn event at scar in Kloof Street, Cape Town brought together a full house of passionate stylists and barbers from across the city and beyond. This sold-out event was both a learning and a social opportunity for the diverse Reuzel community.

The event kicked off sharply at 11 am, with early arrivals hoping to grab front row seats and explore their goodie bags. By 3 pm, the event wrapped up, leaving all who attended inspired and re-energized in their barbering journey.

Jacques Nortje, mhb National Sales Manager, opened with a warm welcome and brief overview before handing over to Reuzel Scumbassador Renaldo Da Silva, who led the main presentation. Joined by three talented guest barbers, Renaldo and his team delivered an engaging and dynamic Look & Learn showcase.

Look & Learn Live Action!

Renaldo demonstrated two of Reuzel’s signature cuts, the Executive Contour Haircut and the Vanguard, followed by a beard styling demonstration that wowed the crowd.

“I learned so much from Renaldo’s techniques. No matter how long you’ve

been in the industry, there's something new to learn every day.”

Stefanie, House of Hair, Paradyskloof

Taufeeq Ajam of Clipperclub impressed with The Scumbag Boogie, a seamless fade, while his model added a touch of magic with an impromptu saxophone performance during the lunch break!

"Mastering the 'clipper-over-comb' technique was great!

I learned how you don’t always need a comb and clipper guards

because it’s all about control and precision."

Fazlien, Widow Maker, Cape Town

Wian Beukes, also from Clipperclub took on the stage with a bold Flat Top cut, showing off his unique flair.

“I’ve never seen a flat-top done before and getting a barber’s perspective was cool.

It’s inspired me to do women’s cuts with a new perspective,

especially with barbering techniques that can cross over.”

Natascha, scar, Cape Town

The surprise of the day was Senior Kadus Ambassador Chad De Lange, who demonstrated a signature approach to a fundamental cut.

Throughout the demonstrations, the audience looked, learned and asked questions, sharing afterward what their takeaways had been.

"For me, today was about understanding the products better –

how to use them on different hair types and head shapes. And also about being confident

in the value of your services and not being afraid to charge properly.”

Andrew, Widow Maker, Cape Town

Lunch featured delicious South African-themed platters from Silver Spoon, which kept everyone energized for the afternoon sessions. The fun continued with the Reuzel Wheel of Fortune game, where everyone walked away with a Reuzel product, ensuring no one left empty-handed.

The event also featured a Lucky Draw with a highly coveted, limited edition Reuzel X Kyone Clipper up for grabs. The winner, Monique Foot from Langebaan Hair Academy, was thrilled, capping off her day with a smile and a cheer.

Now I feel confident to offer Old School vibes to my clients – they’ve been asking!”
