Nebeau Celebrates 10 Years of Hair Excellence

People always ask me how Nebeau started. Business strategists will say that I was ready to seize an opportunity when it presented itself. But I think it was more a blessing when I was down and out and needed a new start. I had just quit my job at a very toxic workplace and did not know where to go from there. I felt lost, frustrated and hopeless. I decided to have my hair done to lift my spirits - we all know the power of a new hairdo! My stylist told me that she was approached by the then distributer of Inebrya in South Africa to distribute the range in the Northwest province. And there, right in the stylist chair, Nebeau was born.

Initially it all felt like a whirlwind, and we did not know our scissors from our clippers. In a matter of two months the business went from provincial distribution to taking over the distribution from the previous distributor for the whole of South Africa. We were going national!

I still remember, our very first sale was a 1L Keratin Restructuring Mask to Carol’s Hair in Florauna Pretoria. It feels like every sale to every customer is imbedded in my mind. Over the years salons came and went (especially during and right after Covid), but many of our customers are still with us today. That just proves to me how loyal and true customers are.

As we grew, we could not handle all the tasks and duties ourselves and had to expand our support base. A business owner can only be successful if she surrounds herself with exceptional people. And boy o boy, do we not have an exceptional bunch of reps and support staff!

The journey has kept me more than a little busy, led to the odd sleepless night and a few tears, but more than anything I have had a great amount of fun and are still enjoying it every day. I raise a toast and say thank you to incredible clients and an immaculate team.
