This year the Kao Global Creative Awards 2024 “From Salon to Spotlight” were held fully online and all the winners were announced online via social media.

KAO South Africa would like to celebrate the National Gold, Silver & Bronze winners in the three technical categories for 2024.
It was their moment to shine at the Global Creative Awards, in a fantastic opportunity for salons/stylists to create their own unique vision and inspiration and to showcase their talent alongside the best stylists and colourists in the global industry!
Creative Haircutter 2024
This precision cutting competition was open to all passionate haircutters who were keen to feature their work and show the world their work is a cut above the competition. All colour and styling creations were created with Goldwell, Kerasilk, KMS and Oribe products only.

The ultimate colour competition where our stylists could create their vision Open to all stylists with the passion and drive to compete in world of colour, for qualified stylists who are active Goldwell, KMS, Oribe customers or working in a Goldwell, KMS or Oribe affiliated salon.

New Talent Colorist 2024
This was such an exciting chance for young stylists to show the world that age is not a prerequisite for creative excellence in talent and technical ability. This category was designed for stylists with less than five years of experience, working in a Goldwell, KMS or Oribe affiliated salon.

The Creative Brief
Find your inspiration for creative colour –it can be anything!
Your inspiration can be anything you choose –no need to follow a specific trend. Your entry should show your creativity and technical ability with colour. Colour creativity, harmony, balance and placement–all things to consider when you are creating your perfect look. Think about creating something original –not a copy of something else! What can you imagine?
Judging Criteria -Entries will be judged in three main categories:
CREATIVITY AND ORIGINALITY –40%
originality
creative use of colour
TECHNICAL EXECUTION –40%
technical execution
innovative use of colour
harmony of colour, cut & style
TOTAL LOOK –20%
appearance of the overall look (hair, makeup and fashion)
professionalism and aesthetic of model and photography
