Wage Schedules Effective from 1 January 2025

The wage schedules have been updated to include the 2025 increases and have been uploaded to the Council’s website. They can be accessed on the website (www.hcsbc.co.za) or by clicking on the link for each Division below.

UASA Membership Fees 2025

The Council has received notice of an adjustment to the UASA membership fees, effective from 1 February 2025.

The membership fees for Active members will increase from R158.00 per month to R168.00 per month. UASA-FEES-2025.pdf

EOHCB Membership Fees 2025

The EOHCB Membership Fees effective from 1 January 2025 may be accessed via the Council’s website. EOHCB-Fees

HBSI: Section 13a & the Consequences for Failure to Pay Over Retirement Fund Contributions

In the November 2024 Council Chronicle, employers were reminded that one of the legal requirements of the Pension Funds Act is the requirement that employers provide the Fund with details of the Responsible Person in their entities. Employers are urged to provide the necessary information and to take note of the consequences of a failure to do so.

“The PFA is prescriptive and provides that the following persons shall be personally liable for compliance with this section and for the payment of any contributions:

(a) if an employer is a company, every director who is regularly involved in the management of the company’s overall financial affairs;

(b) if an employer is a close corporation, every member who controls or is regularly involved in the management of the close corporation’s overall financial affairs; and

(c) any other employer, every person who is regularly involved in the management of the employer’s overall financial affairs.

Section 13A also requires that a retirement fund must request the participating employer in writing to notify it of the identity of any such person so personally liable in terms of the subsection. If an employer fails to comply with the requirements of this provision, all the persons mentioned above shall be personally liable in terms of the subsection.”

Letters will also be circulated in this regard.
