Furr Hair is a vibey hair salon in the lifestyle center Wembley Square in Gardens, Cape Town and has one last workstation available as a rent-a-chair setup.
Wembley Square is a trendy center which has a very popular Virgin Active Gym, Vida E Café, Kead, Ben Wei Restaurant, a large residential complex and the Amazon Head Quarters to mention a few! The center has underground parking and some on-street parking.
The setup allows you to run your own business without the hassle of running an entire salon - you just get to focus on what you love! Our existing stylists are made up predominantly of previous salon owners who have made far more money spending less time working, with far less admin and stress. Others have moved from a commission setup where they get to keep more of their turnover.
Ideal candidates for this workstation:
• A stylist who is working in the town area and looking to be their own boss and move away from the commission-based earnings with a client base that will follow them. This would make financial sense should your turnover be R25 000 and more.
• Existing Salon Owner – Someone who is looking to close their salon and transition to a more lucrative and admin light working environment. Ideally from the same area as Town so as to retain their client base.
The salon has an inverter so when Eskom lets us down, the lights still stay on!

A Note about the Legalities of Chair Rental
Chair rental is the equivalent of running your own “business within a business” independently within a salon.
Registration and Compliance
It is very important that all chair rentals comply with the correct industry legislation and that they are properly registered and up to date with the basic Bargaining Council fees as stipulated. This ensures that every business operating from the premises is compliant and correctly registered, providing peace of mind for all parties as well as clients! Please contact the Bargaining Council for any assistance in this regard.
Contracts and Agreements
A chair rental agreement is only as good as the contract that governs it! A proper contract will protect all parties and ensure peace of mind and a harmonious working relationship. As part of the EOHCB membership, assistance with contracts is offered – please contact them for more info and assistance.
Rental vs Employment
There are many salons at this time offering two options: chair rental, or to be employed by the salon. If you prefer to work as an employee then please get in touch with the salon and discuss whether this is an option.
