Every day this week, we will be focusing on a different category in the Hairnews Awards, and explaining it in more detail. The first spotlight is on the Creative Awards.
Remember: Hairnews Awards entries close on 31 January for all Awards categories.
The Creative Awards are to celebrate creative talent in the industry. There are three sub-categories you can enter – Best Photoshoot Collection, Best In-Salon Makeover and Best Gents Barbering.
Creative Awards: Best Photoshoot Collection
This award is for a professional style shoot, which can be two or more photos but should be a “collection” showcasing styles, trends or a creative theme. This award will be judged on the trends showcased in the photos as well as on the shoot itself. It must be your own original work (or your team’s original work) and you must have your client / model’s permission to submit it.

3.Credits for the photo shoot
4.The photo shoot as an attachment or a Dropbox link (ensure attachments are not larger than 10 MB in total)
Creative Awards: Best In-Salon Makeover
This award is to show the power of a great makeover, whether it is colour, cut, or styling. Photos do not have to be professional and y you can submit photos taken in-salon with your phone. Judges are looking for a trend-driven, commercial “after” look that perfectly suits the client’s looks and lifestyle. It must be your own original work and you must have your client / model’s permission to submit it.

4.A short description of why you created this new look and why it suits your client
Creative Awards: Best Gents’ Barbering
This award is for showcasing top-level barbering skills and current trends that suit your client. You can submit photos taken in-salon with your phone. The work should be commercial and wearable but it can also be creative or edgy if your client is! It must be your own original work and you must have your client / model’s permission to submit it.
