Congratulations to Demar Agencies, who is celebrating their 50th anniversary in business this year. Here’s some more info, and background, on this well loved product supplier.
Demar Agencies was established in 1969 by Rico de Marigny. Greg de Marigny started as a rep in 1977. By 2003 he had worked his way up to be the 90% shareholder.
Initially the company manufactured bulk shampoos and conditioners. However over the years, Demar Agencies range has expanded to include a wide variety of quality and affordable products, including locally manufactured and imported haircare products, salon equipment, furniture, and beauty products.
Their flagship brand, Nourish, is being rebranded to include Argan Oil sulphate-free shampoo, conditioner and 12-in-1 treatment. Another new product that has wowed clients is the Nourish Hair Building Fibres.
Today Demar employs eight full time reps and sells to salons and distributors throughout South Africa. The company is proud of its personal approach, meaning all salons receive top class, dedicated service, whether they are large salons or small one person businesses.
Greg still works in the business today, together with his daughter Tanith, and his son Sacha. They share a positive attitude towards life, business, and South Africa, and love living here and working in our amazing industry – an attitude that inspires the Demar team, and the salons they serve.
