The innovative team at the Dark & Lovely Academy, Johannesburg, have launched a brand new concept to empower and advance their students.
The first-ever pop-up salon day was hosted on Saturday 8th December at the academy. On this day, walk-in clients enjoyed discounted hairdressing services on the academy’s premises, which allowed students to gain practical experience while closely supervised by their lecturers.
This successful day was made extra special with a resident DJ and Dark & Lovely cupcakes to treat every guest.
Watch some action from the event, with academy principal Mimmi Biggar and senior lecturer Disce explaining the benefit of these pop-up salon days.
The Dark & Lovely Academy will host these pop-up salons on a regular basis to allow students to gain valuable practical experience on site, an essential step in their qualification and which will assist them to find employment.
